What is Interactive Darts?

Interactive darts take the classic game of darts to a whole new level by incorporating digital scoring, exciting game modes, and a fun atmosphere that's perfect for any gathering. Picture this: You and your friends, a cozy pub setting, and a smart dartboard and wall-mounted screens that tracks every dart you throw – you won’t even need to keep count of the score. Then, add in a variety of different games to choose from, and you’ve got Arrowsmiths! Sound good? That’s because it is!

The Basics: Rules of Interactive Darts

Setting Up

At your local Arrowsmiths, you’ll find our electronic dartboards are ready and waiting for you to play. These boards are designed to capture every hit accurately, ensuring fair play – and remember, the board’s decision is final!

From there, you can choose from a wide range of Game Modes that change all the time. Perhaps you’ll go for traditional game modes like 501 or other fun modes, each offering different challenges and fun.

General Rules

The goal varies by game mode but generally involves reducing your score to zero or hitting specific targets. Each player throws three darts per turn. The game tracks scores automatically, so focus on your aim – every dart counts! To win, simply be the first to achieve the game objective. For example, in 501, reduce your score exactly to zero before your opponents.

Strategies and Tips

For Beginners:

Stand with your dominant foot forward, about shoulder-width apart. Hold the dart lightly between your thumb and fingers for a smooth release.

Start by aiming for the bullseye to get a feel for the board. The centre is your friend!

It’s true that practice makes perfect, so play as often as you can. The more you practice, the better your muscle memory and accuracy will become. And while we’re not suggesting you get some private rounds in before competing against your friends so you can wow them at the oche, it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea.

For Advanced Players

Master your finishes. Learn the optimal finishes for 501. Memorize common checkouts (e.g., hitting a double 16 to finish 32). Use the Triple Ring. Aiming for the triple 20 will give you the highest-scoring spot and can drastically help your score. Also, stay focused and composed. A bit of friendly banter can throw off your opponent's concentration, but let’s always be good sports!

Top Tricks to Improve Your Game

1. Consistent Routine: Develop a pre-throw routine to maintain consistency. This could be anything from taking a deep breath to a specific stance adjustment.

2. Visualise Success: Before throwing, visualize the dart hitting the target. A positive mindset can enhance your performance.

3. Analyse Your Throws: After each game, review your hits and misses. Understanding your strengths and areas for improvement will help you refine your strategy.

4. Have fun! At Arrowsmiths, you might not win a darts world championship, but you’ll be competing for the pride of the win amongst your friends. Win or lose, we’re sure you’ll have a good time.
